Parson's Green bounced back from last week's disappointment in style against Acton Sports Club.
With Fulham exile Darren Breen over on a visit from Spain, Parson's Green produced some breath-taking football, and for the first 45 minutes totally outclassed their opponents.
Parson's Green started brightly, and began to push Acton Sports Club back, and at times that game was being played in the Acton Sports half of the pitch.
Craig Goddard went close on a couple of occasions, as did Andy Desborough.
The first goal came when Craig Goddard chased a long ball, and appeared to be brought down by the goalkeeper, but the referee waved play on! Scott Goddard headed the ball back into the area, and Craig Goddard (who had picked himself up) unleashed a spectacular over-head kick, which flew into the top corner for a deserved lead.
Parson's Green continued to push Acton Sports Club back, as they sought more goals. The second goal came following a fantastic move from Green, which saw John Nugent roll the ball back for Craig Goddard to curl home a sublime second to double the league leaders advantage.
Parson's Green were not done, and went 3-0 up before half-time when John Nugent lashed home a left-footed shot, following some good approach play.
Half-Time: Parson's Green 3-0 Acton Sports Club
Daniel Rose introduced himself into the game, replacing Olaf Olgiati, and Scott Goddard stepping in at left back.
The second half started with Acton trying to get back into the game, but they were unable to crack the Parson's Green defence.
Parson's Green were always looking lively, and had chances to go even further clear with good opportunities spurned by David Andrews and Craig Goddard, before the goal of the game, David Andrews worked the ball to John Nugent, who laid it off for Daniel Rose, who in-turn picked out Ashley Williams, whose first-time ball was slid home by Craig Goddard for a memorable goal to complete his hat-trick.
Goddard (who was carrying a knock) was immediately replaced by Rob McGlinchey, as was Scott Goddard who was replaced by Scott Brotherton.
Parson's Green did concede a late consolation goal, when Munchie Rose had a rush of blood to the head, and came into no-mans-land to punch a ball, which wasn't cleared, and Ashley Rose brought down their striker (who was through) to concede the penalty, which was converted. Ashley Rose was relieved to get away without even a booking!
Parson's Green finished the game with 10-men as David Andrews pick up a knock, and was unable to continue.
The result means that if Parson's Green win both games of the double-header against Old Sergeant on 27th April, they will be crowned champions. After last week, no one is taking anything for granted!
